Japanese Beetles - bee safe options?

Post by hazmatinferno »

We need to get rid of Japanese Beetles in our yard. I have ordered a few of the Spectracide Bag-A-Bug traps. After ordering, I began wondering if they are safe for honeybees. I turned to Google first. I got the impression that they would be safe for the bees, but I know experience is the best teacher. Does anyone know for sure?

I don't have a specific answer for you, but you might want to take a look at the link below--kind of like putting SHB lures in our hive beetle traps.

Thanks for the link. I had read other similar articles that proposed attempting trapping would only cause more beetles to come into the yard. We have got to get the chickens to work harder at eliminating them!
