Post by Jacobs »

Subject: Brushy Mountain Bee Farm Field Day 2016

Good Afternoon Beekeepers,

We are contacting you because we have this email noted as a contact for a local Beekeeping Association.

We wanted to personally contact the local Bee Clubs and associations with information about our upcoming Field Day on June 25th, 2016 from 9:00am - 5:00pm. It is the most thorough beekeeping event Brushy Mountain Bee Farm has ever hosted and we cannot be more excited about it!

Our Field Day will be a full day of beekeeping seminars and hands-on workshops that bring together some of the best and brightest beekeepers and honey bee researchers throughout the nation. We are honored to have:

Jennifer Berry: Apicultural Research Coordinator and Lab Manager for the University of Georgia Honey Bee Program. Her research includes to the study of Queen Rearing, IPM and pesticides effects on honey bees. She is also a regular contributor to Bee Culture Magazine.

James Wilkes: Chair and Professor of Computer Science at Appalachian State University. Combining his technical knowledge and passion for beekeeping, he is one of the founders of Hive Tracks, a scale that helps read the vitals of a hive without constant intrusive inspections.

SEMINAR & WORKSHOP TOPICS:

How to Keep Bees Alive
Importance of Record-keeping
Sustainable Backyard Beekeeping
Disease & Pest Management
Assessing a Hive
Making Splits
Honey Extracting

We are excited to offer the opportunity for local beekeepers to engage with beekeeping experts they may not otherwise have. This is an educational event for all beekeepers and we hope that those who participate will learn new tips and tricks to use in their bee yard and share with other beekeepers.
Please note that we will have limited coverage on phones as our team will be directing beekeepers and answering questions during the event. Our Retail Store will open during the Field Day but we ask customers to be courteous and not interfere with the event.

Tickets for Field Day are $40.00 per person and includes full day access to the event, refreshments & a Hamburger/Hot Dog lunch catered by Box Car Grills. Tickets may be purchased by calling our customer service line at 1-800-BEESWAX or via our website as Catalog # 485 (if purchased online make sure you purchase a ticket for the NC location. Tickets will not be accepted outside their designated location).

No matter your level of experience, you will come away with tons of great material. Whether you're an experienced beekeeper, a new-bee or someone who has always been intrigued by beekeeping but never knew when to start, there will be something new and exciting for everyone.

If you or any of your members have any questions regarding Field Day please contact us at 1-800-BEESWAX or info@brushymountainbeefarm.com and we will be more than happy to assist you.
