I was tilling an area in my back yard when I saw this little guy (?) crawling on the surface of the sandy patch where I plant garlic. It was active, unhurt, and the webbed feet told me its mother likely came from the lake a couple of hundred yards from my home. I don't know if there more turtles that did not make it, but I carried this one down to the lake at let it go on the shore. It crawled down and entered the water. I have seen the occasional turtle in my yard or my neighbor's yard in the spring seasons that are particularly wet. I have not seen any nesting. Definitely an unexpected harvest.
