Re: Help With Hive Inspection In High Point

She did not make it either. I was able to do a quick check on the four splits on New Years Day. They were very active and all have good sized clusters. I had made and gave all of them protine candy blocks the first week of November, they have eaten most of the blocks. Fringers crossed these will mak...

Re: Help With Hive Inspection In High Point

Had eight frames full of capped honey, plenty of stored pollen, but only a small about (hand full) of bees in the hive. Did find the queen, but no capped brood or larva at all. The deep hive body was completely emp...

Re: Mite Treatments

I plan on using Apiguard this year on my hives. I found the information in the link below on Apiguard helpful. http://www.vita-europe.com/products/apiguard/ I'd like to try the sugar roll method used in the video link below to count mites. I've never used this method, feedback from anyone else who h...

I have a nuc that I started on 04/01. They raised a queen and she is laying, but not like she should. I have another nuc that I started on 06/10 with 6 queen cells. According to the queen calendar a queen was due to emerge on 06/22. Checked today no queen yet. I am thinking of cutting out (I have ne...

Neighbor Having 15 Trees Cut Down

My neighbor who lives in front of me is having 15 trees cut down tomorrow. Most of the trees are not close to by bee yard, but one of the trees is about 15 feet from three of my hives. I think the tree can be feld without hitting my hives because it is already leaning away from them. My question is ...
