How many hives?

Started with 11 in the fall, still have 8.
Sold 30 + last summer. Plan to do the same this year.
I do removals and swarm collecting.

How long?

Got my first hive in 1977 or 78.

I like feral mutts.

The pail must have a resealable top.
Just drill a few 1/16 or smaller holes in the top, reseal it, and place it upside down on top the hole in the inner lid.
Add an empty box and cover, and you are feeding.

Sure, why not. I keep boxes to sell. I will just put them in inventory until someone wants them. Did you call don? I told him I gave you his number and site. He's waiting for your contact.

>>>What do you think about the inner cover? Screened vs board <<< The inner lid is used to keep the outer lid from being propolized to the hive and allow smoking before opening the complete top. Either inner lid acomplishes both. >>>Would you change the foundation in both the deep and the medium?<<<...

Small cell is liked by many, but is still a personal choice procedure. If you want to start with sc, I plan to be at the Feb. 8 class and the Feb. 13 GCBA meeting. I have both deep and medium frames from Reel's. If you want to trade your waxed frames for empty frames, I will trade with you. Then you...

I use FGMO and thymol.
Yes, it is quiet. We are having trouble getting people to use the forum. Kurt and I do most of the posting. Hopefully it will increase as time goes by.

I don't use sc myself, but from what I have read, you must go from lc to natural cell, or 5.1 mm cell, then down to 4.9 mm from there. It is a two step process, normally taking two years. Yes, it is done ten frames, "1 box" at a time.

Hello, ski

That's what I've been told, so we will just show up and if it's different, we'll crash the party. :D

I am of the opinion that the great success of the party came from great leadership, hard work of the leaders, and a group of leaders that really care enough to put their heart into it.
Thank you all, and Merry Christmas to you.

It's a great hobby. Just be careful with the kids. My son had his own hives at 14, then one sting, probably his hundredth in 3 years, sent him to hospital with anaphylactic shock. Do your homework and keep an epi-pen on hand if you are more than 10 minutes from a hospital or medical facility. My gra...

With Chuck, Frank, Curtis, and Jack in our back yard, I don't understand why anyone would want to ship from outside the area.
I think we should try to keep our money at home.

A request to them for a constant update concerning availability may be in order.

Since no one else has answered, I will make a guess at it even tho I don't know. Since the epi-pen is for self-administering, I would think the certification would be so you would be qualified to administer it to someone else.
